A few nights ago, I tried watching some special features on DVD's to see if there were any parts on editing, and the editing process of the film, however there was nothing on the DVD's, so i decided to go onto youtube, and see of there were any clips of film editors talking on here about editing films. there were only a few actual clips. one of Chris Dickens who edited Slumdog Millionaire and won an award for it, but he did not talk much about the process itself. I also typed in an editor called Sally Menke, who has edited every single one of Quentin Tarantino's film, but there was not one of her talking but one of Quentin talking about her editing. Again it did not say anything about how she edited any of the films. So today I decided to watch 'Kill Bill' because I know there are some interesting editing decisions in this film, and whilst watching the film I wrote down some notes about the way things are editied. for example the use of split screen, and the use of black and white in the fight scene at the end. I also noted on the use of music within the film.
